WEATHERFORD (CBSDFW.COM) – The Weatherford neighborhood is heartbroken Saturday following a teenager’s tragic loss of life. Law enforcement say a 15-yr-outdated boy was hit and killed on Interstate 20 Friday night.
Ryan Segar’s household states he was striving to cross the freeway on his bicycle when he struck and killed.
The household states he went out to see a movie with close friends when at all-around 8 p.m. Friday, he got on his bicycle and tried to cross I-20 close to the South Main Street bridge in Weatherford.
His household was heartbroken following they say they noticed the sirens previously that night but had no thought it could be about their son.
That exact same night, the Segars say they got a knock at their doorway from law enforcement.
“With any person who’ve ever been a guardian before… if they’ve ever been troublesome, keep in mind they are just little ones,” reported father Jason Segar. “I overlook him so a great deal.”
Law enforcement say it appears the driver who hit Ryan was not at fault, and the Segars say they do not blame the driver both.
