Drunk teen, 18, who live-streamed horror crash that killed her sister, 14, is jailed for six years
A SHAMELESS teen who LIVE-STREAMED a horror crash which killed her sister has been jailed for more than six years.
Obdulia Sanchez, 18, was convicted of driving while under the influence, gross vehicular manslaughter and child endangerment over the fatal crash outside San Francisco in July.
She continued to film the scene of the crash on Instagram, even as her 14-year-old sister Jacqueline lay dying.
In the video, she brazenly claims: “My sister is dead – I don’t give a f**k.
“This is the last thing I wanted to happen to us, but it just did.”
The teen attempted to justify her shock decision, claiming that people film themselves while driving “all the time.”
She was driving her sister Jacqueline and a pal, 14, when she lost control of the car and smashed into barbed wire on Highway 165, 100 miles from San Francisco.
The video was a key part of the prosecution’s evidence against the teen, who pleaded no contest to the charges brought.
Prosecutors said the video showed her taking her hands off the wheel while driving, before she lost control of the car outside Los Banos, sending it crashing through a fence.
Jacqueline went flying out of the car’s back window on impact – but instead of rushing to her aid, Obdulia went back to the car to get her phone to continue filming.
It was revealed during proceedings that she tested positive for cocaine and marijuana, as well as alcohol.
In court, she apologised for her actions, saying: “I’m so sorry, if I could take her place, I would.
“My negligence killed my sister.
“I was stupid, immature and irresponsible.”
In a letter to local media a month after the crash, she even claimed that she made the video so the public would donate money for her sister’s funeral.

“I would never expose my sister like that. I anticipated the public donating money because my family isn’t rich.”
